2 YOUR DOOR Dry Cleaning has always been committed to helping preserve the environment and its resources and we have recently made another major move towards becoming 'Green'. As a company we are researching and implementing more environmentally sound practices and utilising environmentally friendly solutions and machinery in addition to traditional solvents.
Our first big step was to introduce GreenEarth® Cleaning solvent and have machinery installed at our Inner West dry cleaning premises.
GreenEarth® is an environmentally safe dry cleaning process that 'replaces petroleum-based solvents with liquid silicone, a gentle solution made from one of the earth's safest and most abundant natural resources: silica, or sand.'
The GreenEarth® process is non-toxic and non-hazardous because liquid silicone is made from sand. The same natural sand the earth has been creating for over six billion years. When released to the environment, it safely breaks down into its three natural elements, sand (SiO2) and trace amounts of water and carbon dioxide. So GreenEarth® is safe for the air, water and soil.'
Customers can also do their part in helping the environment by involving themselves in our simple 'recycling program'. 2 YOUR DOOR Dry Cleaning recycles coat hangers, so when you have taken an item off the hanger, you can place it back in your VIP Dry Cleaning Bag (or a separate one), ready to return with your next order. This not only helps the environments but also helps you stay organised and save room in your cupboards.
2 Your Door Dry Cleaning is participating in the Energy Efficiency for Small Business Program that is being led by the NSW Government's Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water. This program is currently conducting an energy audit of our operations and will provide a personalised energy assessment and action plan. More information about the program can be found at www.environment.nsw.gov.au/sustainbus/smallbusenergy.html
